Siege begins in Sarajevo, the longest city in the history of modern wars

Beginning of the Sarajevo site. The Bosnian Serb army besieged the city for 1,425 days until the end of February 1996 at the orders of Ratko Mladigio. Electricity and hot water supply often affected over 10,000 people, mostly civilians.

It is the longest site in the history of modern wars that a city has suffered.
