Nelson Mandela was sentenced to life in prison. ANC entered the African National Congress as a young person and led its armed organization with an armed struggle against the racist regime. After 27 years in prison, he became a symbol of the struggle against apartheid and left prison in 1990, without expressing forgiveness or regret. In the first elections without racial discrimination he was elected President of South Africa in 1994 and, among others, despite the Nobel Peace Prize EE.UU. He kept it on the terrorist list until 2008.
