The Spanish army began to destroy castles and walls of Navarra. They were the first. Sangüesa, Rocaforte, Tudela, Corella, Tafalla, Olite, Falces, Azagra, Peralta, Mendigorría, Lerín or Centrónica. They also destroyed the towers and castles of the former defenders of the kingdom of Navarra. Thus, for centuries, Navarre was protected and castles that symbolized authority disappeared in the medieval landscape.
