Munguia was occupied by Francoist troops after a month and a half of attack. Since 18 May, even though the Basque Army managed to keep the front line between Mungia and Lemoa, the Francoists attacked the people, causing death and destruction. They were later charged with “red” destruction, as on other occasions.
