There was one of the worst industrial disaster in the world, with explosions in the oil deposits PEMEX of San Juanico, Mexico. There were 500 deaths and 5,000 wounded burned, 60,000 more had to move outside the village. It was subsequently demonstrated that the plant’s safety measures were clearly inadequate.
