Arrest of journalist Mumia Abu-Jamal. He was a member of the Black Panthers Party, president of the Black Journalists Association. Accused of firing a police officer, he was sentenced to death although he defended his innocence. He spent 29 years on death row until in 2011 he was changed to prison for his entire life. Well-known activist against police abuse, in the trial, their rights were violated. He has been in prison for 43 years since he was arrested today.
