Poor neighborhoods in the Maputo capital of Mozambique rose up against transport prices

The slums of Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, rose up against transport prices. In September 2010 there was also a popular riot against the increase in the cost of living. In a country struggling to get out of poverty, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund forced the minimum wage to be reduced from $40 to $15 below the poverty level.
