Jon Andoni Aranguren Muxika Iharra was killed as an ETA member by the Civil Guard in Urdazubi. The Iharra was crossing with two commanders towards the Northern Basque Country at 14:00 hours, not knowing that the passage was controlled by the Civil Guard.

When they saw them, they fled, but Aranguren was shot in the back with machine guns.

When the family went to identify the corpse, it was surrounded by civilian guards so they wouldn't see the shots on their back.
