In England, suffragist activist Emily Wilding Davison took a spectacular action. Epsom, after passing the first horses in the platoon, went out in front of the King's horse further back and he hit him, the horse and the driver fell to the ground. Wilding died four days after the coup. He fought for gender equality and lost his life. He was incarcerated nine times.
