Six people founded the EZLN in Chiapas. The Zapatista National Liberation Army is an anti-capitalist guerrilla group fighting for the indigenous peoples of Mexico, known in the uprising of 1 January 1994. In the uprising, Subcomandante Marcos stood out as spokesperson.
