The Texas Department of Education accepted in the US the deletion of the term “capitalism” from school books, as it understood that it had a negative meaning. They decided to replace the word “capitalism” with “free enterprise system”, with the conservative perspective in the curriculum of social sciences subjects. Among other things, they decided to give a more positive view of capitalism and the history of the Republican Party, as well as to remove criticism on the political right.
