A group of climbers set up a platform against the construction of the Leitzaran highway on the Bi Haizpe rocks of Irurtzun. For two weeks, several people alternated to hang. The motorway project was the subject of many actions. In 1990 the Anti-Highway Coordinator introduced the Territory alternative, proposing the use of the pre-existing road for the construction of the freeway. The alternative proposal was developed with a self-financing of 30 million pesetas.
