Hundreds of children, women and men fought the police on Skye Island in Scotland. The abusive rents of the farms and the defence of the grazing rights in the land led to strikes in the rental and occupation of land. The conflict spread throughout northern Scotland and to end the protests the British Government had to occupy the territory militarily in 1884.
