Congo, its colony, was donated to Belgium by King Leopoldo II

King Leopoldo II of Belgium, Congo, managed for 23 years as a personal colony, handed him over to the Belgian country. It showed one of the cruellest faces of European colonialism, killed by the Belgians in Africa by eight to ten million people.

In Belgium they came to make human zoos, as you can see in this 1958 photo.
