The Spanish president of Mondragon, Antonio Cánovas del Castillo, was shot to death by anarchist Michele Angiolillo. In the Montjuïc process the Italian wanted to avenge 400 tortured citizens and the five executed.

He was imprisoned at the present Young House in Bergara. The prison cell is currently a library with its name.
