The house was a space for the dead and the living in the old Basque customs. Children who were born dead or who had died before being baptized were buried next to an outer wall under the roof. The surnames were also associated with a house, the name given by the house to the one who lived in it. This same house also had space in the church, and in ancient times this place was the place where the defundites of the house were buried. It was not “my” home, but ours.

These are old things. Now “my” is the possessive adjective. Less of “us.” However, in many cases there is little possessiveness and no place to live.

The Spanish Constitution recognizes the right to enjoy decent and adequate housing, which is a fundamental right in the French State. Paper rights, often. Because more and more people are living on the street, and many more are living in housing without dignity or suitability.
