“Bag of resilience”, “survival manual”, “backpack of evacuations”: that’s what you can hear in the mouths of the authorities in recent weeks.
Among the declarations of the past month, the European Union has asked the population to prepare a “survival kit” to deal with the emergency risks of 72 hours, so that they can live in self-sufficiency for three days, without neh-help or contact.
The European Commission said on 26 March: “We will help Member States create what is known as the Resilience Bag and therefore make all citizens ready to face it so that they remain in strategic autonomy for at least 72 hours.” He explained this and also proposed a list of ten products considered essential for the fulfillment of this survival kit. Lists and tutorials have since been intercepted everywhere on the web.
This idea has already been echoed in several states. For example, since last year, Sweden, Finland or Poland have already published these survival guidelines and disseminated them among the population. In France, the government had already confirmed at the beginning of March that all citizens will receive a “manual” before the summer. It will be a booklet of about 30 pages, which could be called “France Resilience” and is made from models made by other territories. As has been mentioned in recent days, will the Spanish State do something similar?
Looking out the window, watching the spring, the conflict is announced, a little louder every day, in different places, from different enemies
Whatever the terrain, it seems like a few common axes. To begin with, they would be organized according to the situation (floods, earthquakes, fires, power cuts... and war), listing in each case the risks of the situation, as well as determining the attitude that individuals should have (what to do and what not to do). Striking fact, on the other hand, the brochures could invite people to complete a “survival kit” to react calmly to the “crisis”, listing the “essentials” of touching in the backpack in case of emergencies: water bottle, flashlight, radio, external battery, “to be ready in any situation”. On the other hand, in the guide that Macron wants to transmit, it is said that there will be a section on “engagement”: how to participate in helping the people, in a situation of conflict, in the armies, in the police, with the firefighters...
On the other hand, in his decisions in recent weeks, Macron has reignited the war economy, with the budget of the armies blindly empowered, and promised to increase the production of war material. As if it weren’t enough, to achieve this, people are invited to invest their savings in the unusual special bank notebook interest rate.
Looking out the window, watching the spring, the conflict is announced, a little louder every day, in different places, from different enemies. It feeds the attitudes, fear and culpability of each other. In this same writing, there are too many “quotes”, too much inaccurate information. All these quotes remind us of the legends of the parents, imagining things that we had not read but in the History books. Should we prepare for the war? Let’s not be pessimistic: it’s hard to believe it will happen. Let’s not be too optimistic, it’s hard to be sure that won’t happen. It’s hard to imagine, above all, that a brochure, a lot of self-control, a Swiss knife, three bottles of water, a hideaway in a lost harp, candles, and the crumbs learned in some scout workshops during the time of the child can save us.
