-----------------------------------------------------

I've always thought that this Donostian musician and creator has never gotten the place or attention it deserves. But even if it doesn't, we have their songs left, because there they are. Because it has something special, or more than one thing, that shows it, and with it its value for ever to move forward.

I've long been fascinated by Yesterday I'm the round song and thanks to that piece I met him. Later I discovered that before acting alone I had a background in the back with the Plaza del Hielo group, the Alboka project and other folk initiatives.

And that is, besides being a beautiful and distinctive voice, it has the ability to write elaborate melodies that come in and stay. And, thanks to the learned and lived, it has many differences: Xabi rockero, Xabi, Basque folk lover, Xabi, darker, as well as the ability to endorse all these influences and to fix songs with the most stylish suits. Against it (not in my opinion) one can argue that music can be somewhere.

On the other hand, he has always been able to meet extraordinary musicians, nor has he done the opposite in his work: Karlos Aranzegi, Nando Neira, Quico Pugés, Arkaitz Miner… What a tempo and dress the songs!

It is your fifth long solo job and you can travel (as you like) for the ten themes: No one elegantly diffuses the work. Entzun has a beautiful melody and a San Sebastian brand with splashes of Irish folk. In Konpai, he jumps almost in memory to the kupela of Dubliners and McGowan. The steles in the sand is a popa with folk costumes that grows. Xabi comes dressed in Andresi Zimmerman. The discontinuous lines are blurry and smooth but penetrating, one of them. The brilliance of our eyes is the art of the 1970 Basque singers. Hungry sheep are black and rolled sheep, more guitars, raw and American, but unusual, big. Our skies or Lete? Finally, Jantzi is a pop-rock for Friday night's delight with a touch of American light.
