It's the name.

The words cis or cisgneros are used to designate people who feel comfortable with the born sex or with the educated gender. Those who don't feel comfortable with the born sex or with the established gender would be trans people. This reality has always existed, but the societies of each era and the ways of weaving their power relations have made them visible or invisible. Among the Basques it is usually said that it is the name, so with the words trans and zis we can understand that this reality exists. Maybe for many, this is new, it's a fashion, it's an invention, but for many it's the meaning of their life.

It seems, however, that this reality is uncomfortable for some, that the other is well defined (what is trans), but that being defined (what is cis) does not look as appropriate. So maybe last week, Elon Ms, owner of Twitter, announced that the words cisgender and cis are offensive, and that they are going to be considered as persecution behaviors with repetitive use, that can temporarily close the account to those who use them.

Human beings tend to classify them, to define what is the other thing, they are strategies to feel protected, which we have very internalized. Perhaps the appointment of the other is a necessary step to get to know oneself and take care of oneself, especially among those who have been oppressed. The digital childhood we have with the Muskiz movement has become apparent, because banning a word will not conceal a reality that aims to advance.

In December 2022, in the analyses developed by the Digital Hate Deactivation Center counterhate.com and other agents (The MicrosoftBump: Quantifying the rise in hate speech under Elon Ms) conclude that the number of hate speech on Twitter has increased considerably under the direction of Muskiz.
