One of the first violets has been the arrival of the mountain fires, persecuted by their excess. And then the protests, including the ones I usually bring to this journal.
Two years ago it was terrible. The fires spread throughout Lapurdi, Navarra and Gipuzkoa, from Mount Larrun to Endarlatsa. In total, some 2,300 hectares of incinerated plants did so little, as there were no people wounded or killed. The animals did burn alive, like small animals. And bordes, jungles, grasses and beech trees.
The CADE and other environmental groups warned that it would probably take tens of years to intentionally ignite these fires to revitalize life, and that there are unacceptable criminal fires that constantly damage biodiversity, which are truly criminal and not “unauthorised”, as some call euphemisms. For whom? Not known officially.
And so every year, always insistently.
Some extolled the voice, who do not accept that poison, although it comes from tradition, because traditions are not all appropriate.
This year the smell of smoke has reached Pamplona. Then, when the anticyclone was fixed and the wind stopped, the accumulation of excessive fine particles caused an alert. The Prefect reduced the speed of cars and banned any fire outside… 24 hours. Soon he went to the shepherds to be wolves, honest, not to burn the mountain too much, or at least to make one to one, not all together.
Meanwhile, smog had already been breathed in many places – the Maule’s Pile – and some extolled the voice, which does not support that venom, even though it comes from tradition, because traditions are not all appropriate. On the other hand, we all know, especially the small-scale pastors, that the current extent of the fires has never been seen.
The association Su aski, which fights over these five or six years to prevent this kind of destruction, denounces aloud the responsibility of the State in the problem and the European erroneous financing system: the common agricultural policy distributes the subsidies according to the area of the grasslands, that is, more grass and more profits. So everything that grows above a male becomes dust!
Argumentation of firefighters: that the fires are necessary for the cleaning of the mountain and that they have started this February, being as such. The truth is that they are school holidays at the same time, children are out and not all the noses like the smell of soot. So you'll be told that we always have those fires, which have come from our ancestors, which are from our origins. Etc.
