2020ko abenduaren 03a

Music teacher Joana Otxoa de Alaiza and Alex Gurrutxaga have been the winners of the Eusko Ikaskuntza Gazte Award this year. On the other hand, Gurrutxaga himself has not published the previous essay: Xabier Lete Poet singer of the Fatherland (Alberdania, 2020). “Disclosure is a field of great interest to me. As in education, we play a lot in this area, as human beings, and as a cultural community. The recital Joanak [Otxoa de Alaiza] and Txori kantazale musikatua that we propose and my book have basically the same purpose: to give the Basque the opportunity to immerse himself in the world of Lete. Of course, they are very different deals. The book, although informative, is an essay with many elements. He has asked me for a lot of work. What Joana and I, Txori kantale, propose, is a direct, musical story, to enter for a while in the world of Lete.”

Lete, in Gurrutxaga's doctoral thesis, in a recital in collaboration with Otxoa de Alaiza, or in the essay book. Lete by Alex Gurrutxaga. “My Lete is always our Lete: In the work and figure of Lete, I think there are traces that the world will inhabit itself as a Basque. The work of Lete constricts us, reminds us of a place, makes us return to the earth in times of crisis... That is what my Lete says, ‘in the limits of despair, I am living with you’.
