A famous philosopher said: “The future is not what it was today.” A profound phrase to understand the inability of the sovereign left to carry out the changes. In our case, for a long time, it has been thought that political change was going to take place at a time, negotiated and then, di-da. Reality is raw, we are where we are. Therefore, the left, supported by multiple crises, must rethink the challenges before its mirror, before facing the challenges facing the outside with transformative guarantees.
We said “reform or rupture”. But the future has not been what we thought then. What we want is not to come from a sudden breakdown, but from effective socio-political processes in which step-by-step reforms are being carried out. Changes need a transition and transitions need favourable conditions. We are talking about a continuum in which we never start from scratch. It has had a hard time appropriating it, once and for all of the inertia of the past. But here we are taking a pulse for the future. This is the new political culture, mental openness. Politics, to be effective, has to be comprehensive, socio-political. And the pragmatic, which happens, every time, by what's on the site, that's right, in the clear direction.
But be careful! These are two very different pragmatisms. The one of some, limited and limiting, that puts sovereignty here waiting for what can happen in the south, manager of inertia in management… immovable, waiting for the possible unilateral, believer. The South needle is the one that guides its policy to boast about the situation in the South. Politics 0.0, with no intention of materializing in the political sphere the innovation that is taking place. Under the motto “Experience, I don’t experiment.”
The pragmatism of others is transformative, inevitably at the same time in sovereignty and in the socio-economy, where transformation has its origin in transitions towards the objective, now slower but always effective, through broad agreements, in the strategic vision, using the direction to learn. So that the future we need is tomorrow. A compass in the hand for Euskal Herria to take in the short term the countries that are in the north, and those that come later. Politics 4.0, impregnated with a new culture. Also experimenting in governance.
What is contained in the Denon Herria document are measures that can begin to materialize today and here, with the input of experienced in other places. From the path of politics 4.0, to generate transitions in social sovereignty, broadening the fields of politics, without remaining waiting for the outsiders. Once and for all, innovate political culture!
