The author tells in this novel the surprise that a seventeen-year-old German will have. We are at a time when Hitler’s National Socialist Party is gaining more and more strength in Germany. There is no one who dares to speak out against the Nazis, and all those who are at the point of hitting the Nazis live in terror. The protagonist of the Early Flight agrees with all the convictions of National Socialism, even if he has one incident or another at home. Germany is ready to do whatever it takes to move forward. Of course, he hates the enemies of this idea, especially the Jews. But suddenly he knows he's a Jew, too.
