According to the LAB trade union, Celsa Atlantic, former Arregui Laminations, has today laid off eight workers, five of whom have been fired from the Vitoria-Gasteiz plant and three from Urbina. As announced by the workers at the beginning of the year, there has been a "cut" in the workforce following the cancellation of negotiations with the management.
Mobilisation stops have been recorded since 6 February under the threat of evictions. And in the face of today's decision, the workers will be unemployed for two hours tomorrow, between 10:30 and 12:30. Workers will be mobilised at the factory level, and will then make statements to the media. Workers, who have supported the latest mobilisations, have put forward an alternative to management, but have denounced that it has made them "deaf ears".
