The organisers consider it essential to reject this type of trade agreement because “its sole purpose is to protect financial capital and multinationals”. It has been argued that the main victims of the agreements are the environment, the rights of people and peoples.

The call, organized by the two groups, has been joined by several trade unions, parties and social actors, including the Plural Left, the EHNE, the Sun and the Ecologists in Action. The EHNE explains that the agreements “will cause serious damage in certain areas of society and open the door to actions that harm the environment.”

As for the demonstrations, the one in Bilbao will leave at 5:30 p.m. from Plaza Moyua, previously at 1:00 p.m. from Plaza Unamuno, the one in San Sebastian at 5:00 p.m. from Boulevard and the one in Pamplona at 1:00 p.m. from the old bus station. A parade is held in Vitoria at 12 noon.
