- Gara reported that on March 21, technicians from the City Council of San Sebastián visited the Legazpi Doce Hostel in Legazpi Street. The report of the visit concluded that the situation of the accommodation was irregular and illegal. The city government has not yet taken action. The City of San Sebastian has denounced the case.
In the research carried out, the technicians discovered that the 3rd and 4th floors of the building are offered for tourist use, although in San Sebastián this is forbidden —it is forbidden to offer tourist housing above the 1st floor. The technicians proposed to close both floors “immediately” because they are “illegal”, but they are still in operation today.
It is not the only irregularity: the execution of certain works without a license, the non-fulfillment of the need to have a second emergency entrance and to have the basement as a dining room to be a warehouse, among others.
