Members of the JUSO Stadt Bern collective denounce the police’s attitude as “disproportionate” in a note titled Peace to Shacks, War to Palaces. The wave of occupation that has existed in the city of Bern has been linked to the housing problem and warns of the need to seek a solution.

The police used rubber balls and those inside the house threw paint and rockets through the windows.

On Wednesday night, 300 people demonstrated and there were riots.

They had been in danger of emptying for months. At the end of December, a demonstration was held in favour of the occupied house.
