The Supreme Court denies probation to political prisoners of the Catalan independence process
- The Spanish Supreme Court has denied Oriol Junqueras, Carme Forcadell, Jordi Cuixart, Jordi Sánchez, Jordi Turull, Josep Rull, Raul Romeva, Joaquín Forn and Dolors Bassa conditional release. They have not seen any new reason to review the incarceration ordered by Judge Pablo Llarena.
The defense’s lawyers have demanded the conditional release of the defendants on the grounds that the German court did not consider the crime of Matxidana Carles Puigdemont, among others. Among the arguments put forward by the Supreme Court are that "there is still a risk of flight" and that the trial against them will take place soon.
