Through a hearing, they have reported that the games room in the neighborhood has closed its doors to the public. As you have explained, the room closed its doors two months ago. Neighbours were unaware of the exact information, but a few weeks ago they made known the reasons that led to the breakdown of the business. According to the young people, the owner of the game room is in an unsustainable situation, as he does not find anyone who wants to take charge of the management.

The entrepreneur has contacted the owner of other bars in the neighborhood, who has asked for a meeting of the members of the dynamics to try to reach an agreement on the dynamics against the gambling hall. Neighbours have reported that they do not intend to agree on anything: "We want to make it clear that the members of Judimendi Joko Aretoa Ez are not going to reach an agreement with the entrepreneurs who use the game as an economic source," he added.

Finally, they did not want to put aside the responsibility of the institutions and social agents in the problem of gambling halls: "Don't fight and you despair at once, because only by working in the same direction will we win this war."
Two years of struggle

The dynamic members have been satisfied, and they have managed to close the ACB game room. It's been two years of working within the dynamic. The last Thursday of each month concentrations have been held in Euskal Herria, a report has been produced on the consequences of gambling halls and a first demonstration has been made against these businesses. The networks and the organisation that has been set up among the neighbours have been valued. "We have no doubt that this has been a victory over the power, organization and struggle of the neighbors and brings us closer to the model of the neighborhood we are looking for." Young people have been eager to continue working on the road to meet the needs of the neighborhood. Faced with the risk of the gambling halls reopening their doors, they wanted to make it clear that, once again, they are prepared to respond.

The fight against growing gambling halls

The fight against the games room of Judimensiondi was pioneering, but the last course multiplied the dynamics against these businesses in Euskal Herria and the theme reached central focus in the media: Eragin drew a map of the gambling halls of Bilbao and launched several campaigns, a survey among the Real Sociedad about advertising the gambling halls, in the work "closing the doors to precariousness". ERNAI also made complaints and initiatives... Youth movements have challenged this business model.
