I think Soraluze’s ‘Jaso burua’ initiative is very good, which drives the necessary awareness. Last week, I was at the conference for parents of elementary school children. With the older child in FP, little criticism was heard about the use of screens (and screen content); what is more, worried or not, at the time of the pandemic, the use of electronic devices became widespread in their entirety, and if it was not a screen, the company would not be able to attend to us.

The excellent conference offered by the representative of the Bidelagun association and, fortunately, we can be sure that the initiative in this regard has only just begun. The critique of capitalism also had its place at the conference, when the criteria of video game developers were explained, who continue to develop the games: the only criterion is to be as engrossing as possible, since the sale of the game and the benefits that this entails are the responsibility of the producers’ employers, and they have no scruples to reach it to the detriment of the children.

Google, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft and Apple services are great, they would be great if they were publicly owned. Gather users from all countries

I see the need to pull more of that thread. Because we all live in the slavery of big U.S. tech companies, at a time that Varoufakis calls cloud capitalism (yanisvaroufakis.eu). It has become impossible not to use commercial cloud platforms owned by three or four large companies: To participate in FP classes, to find what we want to buy, to find customers, to reach a certain place in the car, to become aware of some concerts in the gaztetxe, to know the weekend sports schedule, to find and share lessons we like, to translate a text, etc. According to Stallman (stallman.org, we do not use the platform, the platform uses us. Enrichment is a unique goal.

Free software, alternative platforms? They exist, and leaving the cage of slavery through collectivist initiatives from the bottom up is the only alternative, when the State does nothing to break the oligopoly of these companies. Some claim that the State does so as they broke Rockefeller's monopoly. I think the expropriation of these companies is even better. Or call to buy. Google, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft and Apple services are great, they would be great if they were publicly owned. Gather users from all countries.
