A sixteen-year-old African-American is shot by an 85-year-old man in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. Ralph Yarl was on Thursday looking for his younger brother, as The Guardian has announced, and confused, sounded in another house. The man in that house opened the door, without words, shot him in the head. The young man fell to the ground and when he got up and started to flee again shot.
The young man's family and lawyer report that Andrew Lester, who shot, spent the night at home after police interrogation. Kansas City police chief argues that Missouri law only allows a person to stay 24 hours before being formally charged or declared free.
Hundreds of protesters met outside the Lester house to report the incident. Yarlen's aunt spoke after the protests and reported that her nephew, after receiving two shots, went to the three houses until they helped him.
The young man, with serious injuries, is stable. He has a broken skull, a traumatic brain injury, and several arm injuries.
