The attack took place on the night of 29 January. The mosque is located in the Sainte-Foy neighborhood of Quebec, and at the time of the attack, there were about 40 people inside the building. Several media outlets have reported that at least six of them have died and eight have been injured.

Justin Trudeau writes on his Twitter account that there has been a terrorist attack against Muslims. In fact, xenophobic messages have appeared in the mosque in recent months. In June 2016, for example, when it was the month of Ramadan, the head of a pig was left at the door of the mosque, along with a message that said “do good.”

Several witnesses explain that three people have been shot into the mosque. Police arrested two suspects.
