If the 364 fixed posts specified in the contract are not reinstated, the City Council of Vitoria-Gasteiz will initiate a punitive file for serious infringement against the cleaning contract. The environmental councillor, Iñaki Prusilla, announced this measure after the temporary business association formed by FCC and GMSM fired eight workers last week.“A punitive dossier for serious infringement can have significant consequences.”

Last week Iñaki Prusilla met with the company and its employees: "These layoffs do not solve anything and put the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz in a difficult situation. The City Council will not accept payment for services not provided by this or any other company, which is an obligation of the City Government."

During this mandate, the municipal government has already opened seven dossiers to the company that provides the service. The government of Urtarán estimates that the services not provided by the contract amount to more than one million euros, which will be deducted from the 22 million euros paid annually by the City Council.
