You think, feel and live in Basque, you are in Gurea; this is how they present Gurean.eus, a new medium that aims to be a global window of local Basque reality.
Gurean.eus. It unifies all the news generated by the digital editions of the 60 media that make up TOKIKOM, organized in the traditional departments of general media: society, economy, culture, sports, politics, events, Basque...
It also aims to be an open space for collaboration in the network, thanks to the chronicles and analyses generated by different media on the same topic, as well as the opinions and contributions of the 250,000 readers and frequent users of the media that make up TOKIKOM.
Gurean.eus is a communication medium designed for the network, especially to be consulted from mobile phones, although it is also prepared to be read by tablet or pc. It comes to fill the important gap that we can find in providing local information between us.
“We want to make our world, vision and ideas bigger, to build a more inclusive and better informed present among all.” —explains the TOKIKOM Director, Alaitz Artolazabal—"The starting point is simple: TOKIKOM’s local media network generates huge amounts of information every day, in addition to the level of capillarity that no other media can offer. The idea behind Gurean -eus is to add all this content created from town to town, from neighborhood to neighborhood and deliver it in a new showcase, rather than by place, ordered by theme. In this way, we will be able to show the public a completely different view of everyday life, based on proximity, revealing issues that are excluded from the agenda of traditional media."
"Thanks to us," says Artolazabal, "we have a powerful tool that allows us to follow the news that emerges in different media and their treatment almost at the moment, which will also indirectly show us how we are, how we think and feel."
Gurean.eus is already active and it is expected that there will also be access from different websites related to which TOKIKOM of the media are partners, through a series of widgets created for this purpose. This information is also available to anyone who wants to add it to their website through the options offered by the https://gurean.eus/info/widget/ page.
