According to news reports, the demonstration began in the court of Bayonne and ended in front of the village house. Justice for Israel has mobilized. The demonstration had two aims. On the one hand, to express solidarity with the members of the EHEA, Eria Gurrutxaga and Gorka Torre, and on the other, to denounce the oppression to which the Basque language is subjected. Gurrutxaga and Torre are facing trial for having committed an act of disobedience on April 11, the International Day of the Basque Country, on the floor of the court building in Bayonne.Justice for the Basque Country was the motto. They wanted to see the oppression of the Basque language and demand justice for the Basque language.

The EHE Group, he explained on social networks, is pleased with the demonstration: “There is a people here who want to live in Basque and are not willing to accept the oppression against the Basques. Step by step, we’ll make our way.”

They have demanded that we face oppression through disobedience and confrontation. In the interview before the demonstration, Ms. Gurrutxaga spoke about the importance of disobedience: “Acts of disobedience are a tremendous tool to visualize the oppression we experience. Through these actions, all the oppressions that the Basques have are perfectly visible, legally and within this legal and political framework.”

On April 11, Gurrutxaga and Torre will refuse to testify in French. They have been asked to stand trial but have not received a response. The trial will take place at 2 p.m. and a little earlier the court called for a meeting.
