“We have managed to get the message of the Socialist Party to reach all corners of the Basque Country with all the strength and attention it deserves,” explains Andueza.La the evaluation of the results is “very positive” by the PSE-EE politician.

“Four years ago we said that with these results we gain the confidence of the citizens. Today we can say that we have taken a step further and that this trust has been confirmed once again in the urnas. And we can say that today Euskadi is more socialist, and that our municipalities and our deputies look more to the left”, he claimed.

Andueza stresses that it has been a “very polarized” campaign between the PNV and EH Bildu, and that they have wanted to present the elections as a competition between the two parties, but “the results have made them quite wrong.”

When asked whether the pacts between the PNV and the PSE have harmed the PNV, the Secretary-General says that everyone is now in his hands and will have to talk to all parties to decide what the future will be.

“The Socialist Party has found a place to make it clear that this time it is a plural people and that citizens want that diversity.” Andueza, for example Ermua or Portugalete, has highlighted the results of some of the most significant municipalities that win and that have won the PSE-EE.

He also comments on the results obtained in Vitoria-Gasteiz by Maider Etxebarria, who has left second with six seats after EH Bildu. “Socialists are more decisive than ever for the future of our land,” he said.

“On the part of the Basque Socialists, thank you and good evening everyone. Go ahead!”, screams and Andueza ends his speech.
