There is a low presence of women in the main radio conferences of the EITB
  • The blog "The visibility of women in the media" measures the level of participation of women in different media. The latest measurement by the team of lecturers and researchers of the Department of Audiovisual and Advertising of the UPV/EHU has revealed that the presence of women in the main radio stations of the EITB is very low, the smallest since they began to measure.

The number is currently the lowest since the research team started measuring the presence of women in the main radio stations of the EITB. The decrease was very noticeable in the Factoria programme of Euskadi Radio, where the number of women fell by half in April (10.4%). The “Diálogos” section of the Boulevard program, directed by Dani Álvarez in Radio Euskadi, is the one with the lowest female presence (7.7%). On the other hand, the Ganbara radio program, offered by Radio Euskadi in the evening, is the program with the highest number of women among the participants (26.66%), although there has been a decrease in this broadcast.

According to the data provided by the research team, only two women work in a fixed way on the Boulevard of Radio Euskadi: Koro Garmendia and Lourdes Perez. On Euskadi Radio, Laura Semini, Nerea Azurmendi and Maite Ubiria participated in April. The Ubiria is the only woman who repeats in another meeting, while in the case of men, it is emphasized that it is very common to participate in more than one meeting. Naiara Pinedo, Miren Ibañez, Olatz Barriuso, Chelo Aparicio and Ana Garbati were the women who participated in the Raio Basque Chamber in April.
