ELA denounces that the Post Office wants to intensify the postal service
  • The ELA trade union has demanded "the cessation of all non-essential activity and, therefore, the limitation of the activity of Post to the Universal Postal Service, with the minimum possible staff, with 25% of the workforce". On the contrary, the union has denounced that the Post Office tries to take steps in the opposite direction, "not only of the Universal Postal Service, but also of the distribution of notifications and packages".

This is what ELA said on its website: "Correos wants to take advantage of the regulatory changes that have been made recently to expand distribution, in a tremendous irresponsibility for the health of both postal employees and citizens. Following the publication of Royal Decree 10/2020 of 29 March, to reduce mobility and contain the spread of the virus, the Post Office intends to intensify postal activity. In addition to the Universal Postal Service, it tries to distribute notifications and packages; without prejudice to the modification of the published regulations".

ELA has denounced the "irresponsibility" of Correos by "putting at risk the contagion of COViD-19 to its workers and all citizens". He asked Correos to "prioritize the health of workers and citizens in the economic interest of the company".
