Trapagaran Amazon workers will go on a five-day strike last Sunday to report that the company does not “listen” to their claims. A five-day strike will be held on 17 and 18 December and on 3, 4 and 5 January. Last Friday the Strike Committee met with the company’s management. However, LAB says they have failed to resolve the conflict: “They have not begun to discuss any of our proposals.” Employees report that Amazon’s attitude is “very serious”: “They have been and are irresponsible and do not want to try to solve the conflict.” LAB and ELA join the strike.

Among the proposals, Amazon staff requests wage increases associated with the CPI, compensation for work on public holidays and weekends, minimum days of partial contracts, elimination of discontinuous permanent staff contracts, minimum 22 days of leave, age allowances, transport costs covered by the company and subrogation guarantees for workers in subcontracted companies. If the situation is not changed, the strike will continue on 3, 4 and 5 January.
