Father Mari has carried out two rescues in the Mediterranean for two days. On Tuesday morning, he rescued 11 migrants from a boat about to sink and rescues another seventeen people early on Wednesday. So right now, there are 28 migrants inside the boat.

ETB journalist Asier Sánchez is on board and according to the explanations offered in Euskadi Irratia, they have received the warning about 04:30 a.m. on Wednesday, warning that nearly 100 people were in danger. It took almost two hours to get to where the boat was, and by then there were migrants who had already climbed to the Libyan coast guard ship. But there are people who have thrown into the water to prevent it from ending up in the hands of the coastguards and are rescued by Father Mari. The news reports that refugees from Libya are those who went by boat.

The SMH, Humanitarian Marine Rescue, has announced on Twitter that all rescued people are in good condition; nurses are stabilizing the situation of two, but are out of danger. The SMH has specified that 13 were the people who went by boat.

The number of migrants arriving at sea in good time is usually increasing. With this in mind, Father Mari warned Tuesday that there may be more warnings in the coming hours, due to improved sea conditions.

Naiz has collected that, according to data from 13 June of the Italian Ministry of the Interior, 21,862 migrants have arrived on the Italian coast since the beginning of the year. More than last year, 16,737 were recorded in the same period.
