Alexis Kauffmann, head of free software projects and open resources of the French Ministry of Education, will talk about the need to boost the development of ‘digital commons’ in education. Kauffman is a math professor and Framasoft was one of the founders of the partnership that drives free digital resources. He is now in the French Ministry of Education and will make his digital strategy known. In fact, the official French institution will explain why and how it integrates ‘digital commons’ education.

Kauffmann defines the ‘digital commons’ as a digital resource, created and/or maintained collectively by a community and subject to the rules that guarantee its collective and shared character. Linux free operating system, OpenStreetMap free maps, or the free encyclopedia of Wikipedia are examples of digital commons.

Following the Kauffmann conference, another experience in the Atlantic Pyrenees will be announced: Resolab project. The objective of this project is to prevent risk behaviors of adolescents in social networks, relying, among other things, on a free platform. It is a question of proposing a new method of risk prevention on social networks that can complement other existing measures such as awareness-raising sessions. This project seeks the empowerment of young people through experimentation and the provision of a safe environment and awareness of the good use of social networks. To do so, they use a platform that ensures greater confidentiality of information in front of a social network such as Facebook or Instagram.

The Resolab project is promoted by the Baiona Hospital (Adoenia: service for adolescents), Antic Pays Basque, a non-profit association that promotes responsible digitalization and the NAOS Cluster, which seeks the development of the economic sector of free open source technologies in the economic sector of New Aquitaine. The draft will be submitted by a representative of each entity.

The Euskarabildua Day will be held on October 26 at the San Telmo Museum of Donostia and is organized by ARGIA, along with companies from the Iametza and Ametzagaiña group. Interested people can register on the Euskera website.
