Two and a half months after the French police shot the young Nahel Merzou and violent riots took place in banlieue or popular neighbourhoods, the police killed another young man on 6 September. A 16-year-old who was in a motocross and who "escaped" to see the police, according to his official version. Run away and gather in front of a second shrinking police car. He was accidentally taken to hospital, but died on Wednesday. The accident occurred in the city of Elancourt in Paris.

The General Inspection of the French Police, IGPN, has launched two surveys, one for "disobedience" the youth and the other for "involuntary coup" in both police.

Murders for "disobedience"

In 2017, the French Government gave the police the right to use the weapon, extending the possibility of "defending" itself when one does not obey. Since then there has been a rapid increase in the cause in the hands, both blows and murders. According to data from the Interministerial Road Safety Inspectorate, between 2010 and 2019, this infringement increased by 49% and 80% for serious cases. In the case of Oroit Nahel Merzouke, the police also accused him of this, but the video recorded by a walker clearly showed the abuse of crime. In the last report of this audit it can be read that for this reason, last year 157 people were shot by the French police in 2020, 153.

The death of Nahel Merzouke provoked violent riots in numerous French banlieues and the government reacted with repression. Since then, no measures have been taken to improve the socio-economic situation of the working-class neighbourhoods or to initiate work on systemic racism that may occur within the French police.
