Iñaki Badiola, president of the Real Sociedad, sat before the judge in January and at the end of April the resolution has arrived which is not final. The ruling states that the Prosecutor ' s Office demanded a sentence of 66 years ' imprisonment for alleged insults and slander against Gipuzkoan politicians, judges and journalists. In total, the San Sebastian Criminal Court sentenced him to ten years and eight months, divided into eight sentences. For these reasons, Badiola will receive an economic sanction of EUR 180,000 and will have to pay EUR 175,000.
The resolution is far from the 66 year prison sentence requested by the Public Prosecutor ' s Office. As regards compensation and sanctions, it required almost EUR 3 million.
